Arnlea Systems, a leading Scottish provider of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) and mobile information solutions, today announced delivery of their 200th RFID-enabled project to Nautronix plc, a leading provider of wireless through water communications technology solutions to the defence, oil and gas, marine and ocean science industries.
This is a fantastic achievement for Arnlea Systems and demonstrates the innovative talent and engineering expertise we have in Scotland, commented Kevin Boyd, Operations Manager for Arnlea Systems. As a result of this and other large deals in the pipeline, we have recently added to our team and expect to need further people by the end of the year.
Arnlea currently supports a global customer base exceeding 150 customers and distributors with their existing team.
Established in 1990 by a local radio engineer, the company transformed from a radio design & repair company to an RFID solution company in 1994. Initial projects were delivered to the local Oil and Gas industry to electronically identify pipe and downhole logging tools, and this has expanded to include the Power, Food, Aerospace, Emergency Services, Pulp & Paper, Laundry, Agriculture, Transport, Electronics and Semiconductor industries.
In 2001 Arnlea made substantial investments in research and development and also purchased from Indala (previously Motorola) their global industrial RFID business for a six-figure sum, further extending Arnleas RFID capability and customer base.
Today, Arnlea offer a range of proven RFID-enabled mobile information system solutions to reduce the time and cost of managing rental equipment, manufacturing operations, and maintenance/repair operations by as much as 30%. These systems also automate the link between existing office-based management systems and the physical equipment & materials, to deliver accurate visibility & traceability of activities.
In addition to end-to-end solutions, Arnlea continue to design and assemble a range of mobile RFID reader/writer products working with other Scottish companies to manufacture these products. These products incorporate Arnleas expertise applying RFID technology to metal items for operation in potentially explosive environments.
