Datalogic, the leading European manufacturer and one of the largest worldwide of bar code readers, mobile computers and RFID systems is pleased to announce that as of today, Datalogic Asia is operational with an office in Hong Kong.
The opening of the branch in Asia is part of a policy aimed at strengthening Datalogic in strategic areas that have a high growth potential, as well as improving the sales network to grow market shares beyond Europe.
Datalogic is present in around 80 countries and locally takes care of the major geographic areas. In 2004 it reached significant results in Asia without a direct presence. The success of the Group in this area determined the need for a local presence which can provide direct support, in terms of technical assistance and marketing, to the existing network of Partners, as well as support further expansion.
The direct presence in an important area such as Asia, will aid in better understanding the customer needs and will make it possible to respond to market demands with greater accuracy and efficiency.
We chose Hong Kong as the location of the Asian branch due to its strategic position, states Gian Paolo Fedrigo, Datalogic Chief Operating Officer. From here we will directly preside a region with high growth prospects, and foresee that Datalogic Asia will significantly contribute to reaching our ambitious goals, i.e. bring Datalogics core business in the Asia Pacific region to 20% of overall sales.
