Retail Solutions, the leading technology exhibition for the UKs fast moving retail sector, at the NEC from the 7th 9th June 2005, will this year feature leading retailers talking about how they have used technology to improve their businesses.

Jo Humphries, Business Programme Manager, Dixons will talk about how Dixons Stores Group managed to deliver their hugely complex EPOS solution on time and to budget with exceptionally high quality. Steve Goodburn, Director Operations and Colin MacLeod, Project Manager, B&Q will talk about store task execution and compliance management to realise immediate and measurable improvements to store productivity and efficiency.

For the Keynote Address, Bill Franks, EVP and CIO, Saks Fifth Avenue, New York, will propose, Where does the Future of Retail Lie?

Rich Farrell, Vice President of Information Services, Piggly Wiggly will look at biometrics and show how customers at this US grocery chain welcome the simplicity and security of using fingerprint recognition.

Jim Bendon, IT Director, Majestic Wine Warehouse will show how moving its 115 stores and head office onto internet protocol was a bid to cut costs and time spent by staff in stores accessing information. Karen Shelsher, Project Manager, Service Productivity Dept, Tescos presentation will address Tescos rollout of Torex Retails Scheduler system, the benefits gained and plans to further enhance the process in-store with real-time scheduling.

Mark Leckie, Business Systems Manager, WH Smith will discuss how in a move to improve efficiency, simplify its management and operations costs and provide a better level of service to customers, WH Smith have outsourced all IT services to be provided with all in-store technology requirements including software, hardware, peripherals, chip and pin and store networking.

The two seminar theatres are located in the exhibition hall and the seminars are free to all visitors to the Show. Each presentation lasts 20 minutes followed by questions and answers. Presentations run 10.00 am 4.00 pm. Delegates can attend whichever sessions are of interest to them. It is not possible to pre-book attendance.
