DECRU DELIVERS STORAGE SECURITY FOR iSCSI

Decru, the leader in networked data storage security, today unveiled the Decru DataFort i-Series family of storage security appliances for iSCSI storage environments, an industry first. The company is launching its entry-level iSCSI security solution, Decru DataFort i115, and plans to deliver its datacentre-class solution in summer of 2005.

Recent privacy breaches have demonstrated the importance of end-to-end security for stored data. As customer databases and storage repositories grow larger and more interconnected, a single breach can now expose millions of records and terabytes of data, leading to regulatory and legal penalties, loss of revenues, and brand damage.

Decru DataFort is the only storage security platform that can secure data across the entire enterprise, including all open operating systems, all major database systems, and storage environments including NAS, DAS, SAN, iSCSI, and tape. Decru DataFort i115 provides a turnkey workgroup solution for securing iSCSI storage, enabling secure deployment of block-based applications in IP SAN environments.

Decru storage security solutions support a broad range of enterprise initiatives, including regulatory compliance, privacy, insider threat mitigation, outsourcing, and risk management. DataFort appliances protect stored data with strong encryption, access controls, authentication, and secure logging, ensuring that only authorised users and applications can access sensitive data. Decru Cryptainer vaults allow secure compartmentalisation of multiple applications or business units within shared infrastructures, blocking unauthorised access by other groups and "superuser" administrators.

DataFort appliances can be installed transparently in heterogeneous environments, without changes to servers, desktops, applications, storage, authentication, or user workflow. DataFort supports both in-line and fabric-attached deployment, allowing maximum flexibility. Encryption key management is automated within the Decru DataFort platform, and keys are securely backed up from all appliances to a central system called Lifetime Key Management.
