Madge announces alliance programme

Madge, a leading supplier of enterprise Wireless Local Area Networking (WLAN) management and security technology, today announced an alliance programme and confirmed that D-Link, a global leader in the design and development of connectivity and communications technologies, has signed as an alliance partner.

Under the terms, Madge and D-Link will co-market their complementary WLAN and networking products, initially in Germany, to medium-sized enterprise (SME) and corporate customers through their established networks of channel partners.

Benefiting from multi vendor support capabilities, the Madge Enterprise Access Server 2 may be deployed with D-Link DWL 2100AP access points, to form a secure, scalable and manageable WLAN solution for enterprise class deployments. The additional elements of D-Links wired switching architecture and Madges Wireless Intrusion Prevention system provides corporate customers and other organisations with a very cost effective and secure option for rolling out enterprise wide wireless LANs.

The alliance programme will give us an enhanced reach into existing markets and allow us to offer a new source of validated end to end solutions to customers, said Andy MacDonald, vice president of worldwide sales for Madge. Todays announcement is the first of many that we expect to arise from the programme.

Madge plans to hold a series of workshops with its alliance partners in the Spring to familiarise the channel with the benefits of the programme.
