Symbol Technologies, Inc. (NYSE:SBL), The Enterprise Mobility Company, announced the introduction of the Symbol PartnerSelect Independent Software Vendor (ISV) Partner Program, designed to promote go-to-market relationships between ISVs, solution and business partners and SymbolCertified Professional Service Providers worldwide. By enhancing Symbols channel ecosystem, ISVs can develop mutually beneficial partnerships with Symbols sales force and channel partners to provide complete enterprise mobility solutions for customers and prospects.

The ISV Partner Program, which will go into effect on April 18, 2005, is an expansion of the award-winning global Symbol PartnerSelect Program. The program will enable qualified software application developers to leverage technical, sales and marketing enablement programs to increase both revenue and profitability. Symbol will also expand its technical enablement offerings to provide solutions validation as well as advanced development assistance and early access to new products to qualified ISVs for application development, porting and migration.

Because of their deep industry and technology expertise, ISVs play a critical role in solving complex business problems and earn a coveted trusted advisor status with customers, said Jan Burton, Symbol vice president of worldwide channels. The Symbol PartnerSelect ISV Partner Program enables ISVs to develop and deploy repeatable, highly differentiated and competitive software applications for enterprise mobility customers; leverage Symbols leadership, market presence and sales force reach; and expands partner ecosystems by connecting with Symbols channel partners to offer customer prospects a complete solution.

Countermind has developed a field service automation (FSA) application for The ICEE Company that decreased non-billable time and increased technician productivity, resulting in a positive impact on revenue. The field service automation application, running on Symbol mobile computers, allows ICEE field service representatives to take priority service calls, complete work orders in the field, and obtain customer signatures.
