AQUARIUS PARTNERS WITH ADAPTEC FOR STORAGE SOLUTIONS

Adaptec, a global provider of storage solutions, today announced that Aquarius, one of Russia's largest producers of computer equipment, has become its first Platinum Storage Solutions Partner in Russia. Under the terms of today's agreement, Aquarius will also have the exclusive right to put its logo on Adaptec's storage solutions.

"This strategic partnership will rapidly expand the range of storage solutions available to the Russian marketplace," said Russ Johnson, general manager and vice president of sales and marketing for Adaptec Europe and Asia. "Aquarius will be providing its customers with Adaptec's award-winning, fully-tested storage solutions that come with the high levels of support and guarantees associated with the Adaptec brand."

Platinum level is the highest status within Adaptec's global Connect Partner Programme and encompasses Adaptec's SCSI, SATA, RAID, Fibre Channel, iSCSI and external storage technologies including Snap Appliance solutions. Later in 2005, it will include the industry's first Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) products. Key benefits for Aquarius range from access to early evaluation units and use of Adaptec's extensive sales and marketing systems through to in-depth product training, special pricing and immediate access to technical support.

According to Andrey Sostin, Technical Director at Aquarius, "Being appointed as Adaptec's first Platinum Storage Partner in this region confirms Aquarius leading position in the Russian computer systems marketplace. We expect this agreement to deliver immediate benefits to our customers who range from small to medium enterprises (SME) through to governmental organizations, banks and many other vertical industries. This partnership will contribute significantly to our plans to double our storage segment revenues during 2005."
