Datalogic SpA - a company listed in the TechStar segment (high-growth companies with innovative business models or high-tech products/processes) of Milan's Nuovo Mercato and active in the design, production and distribution of barcode reader systems and RFID systems - is strengthening its foreign presence.
At the beginning of 2005 the company inaugurated a branch in Finland (Espoo) and further strengthened its branches in Austria (Guntramsdorf) and in the Netherlands (Maarssen).
Datalogic is present in some 80 markets and locally covers the main geographical areas with over 250 employees (accounting for 31% of the group's workforce).
Datalogic has estimated that by 2005 year-end the three branches will achieve total sales of over Euro 13 million, with annual growth rates in excess of 30%, and reach a total of 14 employees.
The further expansion of Datalogic in foreign markets forms part of the group's policy of reinforcing itself in areas considered to be strategic and feature strong growth potential, and strengthening its sales network with the aim of increasing commercial activity.
"Strengthening our direct presence abroad," stated Roberto Tunioli, the company's CEO "confirms Datalogic's extensive internationalisation and the major prospects opened up by covering markets that offer significant possibilities of development."
Datalogic is the largest European manufacturer of CCD and laser-based bar code readers and mobile computers. Datalogic is present in the promising RFID market via its subsidiary EMS Inc. (Scotts Valley California) with a leading position in the automotive sector, electronic manufacturers and warehouse management systems (WMS). With their advanced technology, intelligent design, and solid reliability, the vast range of Datalogic products can satisfy any application need and have been setting the industry standard for over 30 years.
Datalogic is quoted on the Milan Stock Exchange, and in 2004 produced revenues of Euro 146.6 million, of which over 80% is made abroad. It employs over 800 staff world-wide and has its headquarters close to Bologna, Italy.
