Tandberg Data appoints new UK sales manager

Tandberg Data, the leading European data storage company, has expanded its UK sales operation in line with its dynamic and aggressive push in the region by appointing Andrew Brown as its new UK sales manager. Brown brings with him extensive sales and marketing experience, gained through his previous work with both Voyager and Standard Storage Technologies (SST).

Operating from Tandberg Data (UK) Ltds offices, Brown will be responsible for building the UK partner network and intends to inject renewed energy into the channel reseller programme. He comments, Recently, theres been a lot of mistrust building up within the UK channel as some of the major storage vendors havent been sticking to the pure channel approach they had agreed. Through investment in the marketplace and highly competitive pricing, we will re-build this trust. We aim to provide the same quality products at a lower cost and help our partners succeed and win business.

Moving forward, Tandberg Data is taking a much more sales-focused approach and thats where Brown comes into the picture. His remit includes boosting the companys UK brand presence by focusing on educating the UK market on Tandberg Datas tape automation products and storage solutions. In order to achieve this, he will need to expand and nurture the sales channel, staying true to Tandberg Datas pure channel sales approach.

Its an exciting time at Tandberg and Im delighted to be working with a heavy-weight player in the data storage arena with such a strong reputation. Tandberg has a number of new products due for release shortly and I can see that the UK currently experiencing higher storage growth than anywhere else in Europe is once again going to be an important market for us, Brown continued.

Andrews enthusiasm and excellent track-record in sales will prove invaluable to us over the coming months and years, explains Gary Preston, sales director for Europe at Tandberg Data. His appointment is part of my plan to build a driven, aggressive and experienced sales team in a bid to boost Tandbergs European sales. Demand for our automation products and storage solutions is high and with Andrews help we intend to meet that market need in the UK.
