4 - 8 April AIIM Roadshow: System selectors rate ease-of-use as most important factor

Industry association AIIM Europe has found that managers selecting information and document management systems rate ease-of-implementation and simplicity-of-use as their most important evaluation criteria, well ahead of functionality, scalability, standards compliance and reputation of supplier.

The AIIM survey of over 300 organisations across financial services, manufacturing, healthcare, utilities, construction and government also showed that planning and managing implementations, including change management, was the biggest challenge to project champions. It ranked well above achieving financial justification and board-level commitment.

AIIM spokesman Doug Miles comments, Information and content management requirements are now so core to day-to-day business processes that implementing an Enterprise Content Management (ECM) system is a major undertaking. To maximise the productivity gains, systems must be easy-to-use for staff at all levels in the organisation.

The AIIM Roadshow in April provides an ideal opportunity to compare over 25 information and document management solutions side-by-side, and to discuss implementation issues. The Roadshow will visit: London, April 4th; Bristol, 5th; Birmingham, 6th; Manchester, 7th; Glasgow, 8th.
