SMC Networks has launched the latest member of the EZ Connect family of home networking products, the SMC-BT10 EZ Connect Wireless Bluetooth USB Adapter. The Bluetooth 1.2 compliant adapter makes it easy to set-up a personal area network (PAN) that connects up to seven Bluetooth-equipped devices, such as phones or PDAs.
The SMC-BT10 communicates at distances of up to 9 metres and boasts higher performance and reduced interference when connecting to other Bluetooth 1.2 devices*. It also provides built-in security through encryption and authentication while retaining full backward compatibility with other Bluetooth standards.
Useful applications include connecting PCs to Bluetooth devices for data sharing and transfer, printing, email, web browsing, synchronisation and more.
Users simply plug the adapter into the USB port on a notebook or desktop PC and insert the EZ Installation Wizard CD in computer's CD drive. The EZ Installation Wizard performs the installation automatically.
*Range depends on operating environment, number of users, and other wireless devices operating in the 2.4 GHz frequency band.
