Its superior data capture versatility and wireless communication capabilities, together with an elegant design and great reliability, make Datalogics Jet professional PDA especially suited to retail environments for inventory and shelf-replenishment applications. It can also be successfully used in picking and shipping activities in the transportation and logistics field, as well as in healthcare administration for automating services and managing maintenance or installation of industrial equipment.
Based on a Microsoft Windows CE 4.2 .Net operating system, Datalogics new Jet professional PDA takes advantage of a powerful Intel X-Scale microprocessor @ 400 MHz and includes fully integrated automatic data capture capabilities. It can read linear codes, 2D codes, images and RFID HF-ISO tags.
Light and compact, Datalogics Jet professional PDA is very easy to handle and guarantees reliability and ruggedness, to provide mobile professionals with the most relevant features needed to operate in any kind of environment. The Jet withstands repeated drops from 1.5 metres onto concrete and complies with IP64 protection class against water and dust. Moreover, it is equipped with long-lasting rechargeable Li-Ion batteries and can be used at temperatures ranging from -10C to +50C.
The Jet features fully integrated wireless connectivity, which guarantees extremely versatile communication complying with all the most widely used standard technologies, such as Bluetooth - to communicate with portable devices (e.g. bar code printers); Wi-Fi technology, which is compatible with the WLAN IEEE 802.11b standard - to connect to the company networks, and GSM/GPRS tri-Band technology - for voice and data transmission. Serial communication takes place through USB, RS232 and IrDA serial interfaces.
The Jet user interface is extremely user-friendly with a wide VGA colour 64K screen, that is very bright and equipped with backlight, which enables operators to display information in any light condition. The touch screen function makes it possible to enter data using a stylus pen, while the backlit 27-key mobile-phone-like keyboard is very easy to use and includes a web-based application dedicated section.
The new Datalogic Jet professional PDA can therefore capture, compute and communicate information anywhere and at any time, and offers the most versatile business solution for any warehouse management system, as well as for shipping and service management. Information systems can thus be updated in real-time and operators can be coordinated with the utmost efficiency.
