INGRAM MICRO IMPROVES COMMUNICATIONS WITH ASSOCIATES AND RESELLER CUSTOMERS AROUND THE GLOBE VIA WEBEX MEETING APPLICATIONS

WebEx Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: WEBX), the leading provider of on-demand web meeting applications, today announced it has renewed an agreement with Ingram Micro (NYSE: IM), the worlds largest technology distributor, to provide its suite of meeting and collaboration applications to Ingram Micro.

With customers and associates located around the world, maintaining efficient and effective communications is critical for Ingram Micro. Two years ago, the distributor began using WebEx meetings for reseller demonstrations, training and asynchronous content delivery. Since the company started using WebEx, online delivery of reseller communications and employee training has steadily increased.

We continue to see an increase in WebEx usage across our company. Within our HR department, we use WebEx Training Center for new policy training, management training and enterprise-application training, said Bruce Erenkrantz, vice president of assessment and development, Ingram Micro.  Throughout the adoption process, Ingram Micro has found WebEx services easy to implement and use. Competing online meeting-application providers did not offer nearly the number of features and support that WebEx does.

As WebEx becomes an everyday part of Ingram Micros efficient business communications, it contributes to the companys high-performance culture. The web-based applications are being used by groups across the organization-from Ingram Micros executive team, to the sales, marketing and human resources departments and extending all the way to the distributors customer groups. Ingram Micro has used WebEx for a number of initiatives, including preparing all associates for the effects of the federal CAN-SPAM law, hosting monthly marketing meetings with leading customers, hosting internal group meetings for field sales representatives and delivering dozens of online training modules. Without the simple, platform-independent functionality that WebEx provides, hosting these multiple-location online events would be prohibitive from a coordination and cost standpoint.

Additionally, WebExs dedicated customer teams deliver on-going training and awareness programs.  We have a group of people at WebEx that works directly with Ingram Micro to ensure its associates are familiar with the entire suite of WebEx meeting applications and have a clear understanding of how our applications can improve their business processes, said Jeff Schmidt, vice president of worldwide sales at WebEx Communications. Traditionally, new applications are thrown over the wall into organizations, but at WebEx, we help customer like Ingam Micro achieve maximum benefits through our personalized awareness and adoption support.

WebEx manages a global network over which it delivers a suite of on-demand web meeting applications including applications for web conferencing, online sales calls, web-based support, remote training and online events. These applications help businesses, like Ingram Micro, accelerate the sales cycle, increase revenue, improve employee productivity, speed products to market, enhance customer satisfaction and decrease training and travel costs. WebEx provides its on-demand applications to corporations, technology companies and telecommunication providers worldwide. All of WebEx's applications are built on the MediaTone switching platform and delivered through the WebEx MediaTone Network, the only global network specifically designed for real-time collaboration.
