Kodak Strengthens Low Volume Scanner Team

Eastman Kodak Company has announced David Whitton as new business Business development Development manager Manager for Capture products of Kodaks Document Imaging business in Europe, Africa and Middle East.

Formerly, European Scanner Business Manager at Fujitsu, Whitton began his Imaging career with NCRs Micrographics division in 1989 selling microfilm and microfiche services. His first foray into the Scanner world was at Bell and Howell in 1996 where he was responsible for Scanner sales in Germany, France, Switzerland and Austria. Whitton then joined Fujitsu in 1999 as the Scanner Business Manager for the U.K., Benelux, Middle East and South Africa. In 2001, he became European Scanner Business Manager. This saw him responsible for both pricing strategy and chairing the European Scanner Workgroup which sets scanner policy within Fujitsu. In addition, he also assumed direct management of the French and Scandinavian markets.

When asked about his move to Kodak, Whitton said I jumped at the chance! Kodak now plays in the workgroup and departmental areas where it didnt really before. The strength of the product set allied with a focus on partnering with resellers and distributors to develop a solutions approach to the market was is very appealing! Kodak are managing the business for growth and I want to play my part in that!

Whitton completed his MBA at the University of Bradford Management Centre in 1995 winning the Binder Hamlyn prize for the student most competent in financial management. He also holds B.Sc in Physics and an M Sc in Applied Optics from Imperial College London.
