D-LINK ACADEMY LAUNCHED TO FOSTER CHANNEL INTELLIGENCE

D-Link - the leading manufacturer of networking solutions to the SOHO, SMB and Enterprise environments - today announced the launch of a specialised, instructor led channel training initiative the D-Link Academy, aimed at both existing and potential channel partners who wish to increase their knowledge of specific technology areas and gain a formal accreditation reflecting their expertise.

The D-Link Academy is an extension of our ongoing 100% commitment to the channel, and is intended to arm our reseller partners with the necessary skills to achieve maximum sales success, said Tahira Perveen, Country Sales Manager, D-Link UK & Ireland. We have taken into account technological trends and requests from our channel partners when designing the content of each course and will tailor training subject to specific requirements if requested. This will be aided by our selection of ITERSource as our authorised education services partner, based on their ability to provide support and focus to the training needs of the academy.

The courses available are: D-Link Certified Solution Professional, D-Link Certified Wireless Engineer, D-Link Certified Firewall Engineer, and D-Link Certified Switch Engineer. Existing D-Link Network Partners and Authorised Resellers will be incentivised to attend the Academy and adopt the accreditations. The first 25 registrations will receive a complimentary D-Link wireless kit, and everyone that registers will receive a 10% redeemable coupon off their first D-Link order. New channel partners will be obligated to meet a prerequisite level of training in order to qualify for D-Links channel programmes.

"With so many training courses - offering a mixed bag of useful and not-so-useful content - available to our sales and engineering staff,it's important that we select only the most focussed and applicable ones for them to attend," said Chris Rixom, Sales Director, Tempus Computers Ltd. "The D-Link Academy represents a significant opportunity to become accustomed tothe in-depthfunctionality of the D-Linkproduct range, and equip ourselves with knowledge about the many unique value-addedselling-points and how they apply to enterprise and SME endusers."

Initially, the Academy will operate in an instructor-led classroom format, through one-day and three-day sessions held in the North and South of the UK. e-Learning capabilities are due to be introduced next year, it will also be possible for tailored training courses to be delivered.

We are pleased to have been selected to support D-Link as an Authorised Education Services Partner. The new partner program will assist D-Link partners to increase revenues whilst reducing support costs, said Adam Reid, Executive VP of Global Sales and International Operations at ITERSource, the education and professional services company contracted to facilitate the D-Link Academy. The Academy will be focused on providing sales, technical-sales and engineering personnel with core information to assist with sales and service competency.
