Printronix, the leading manufacturer of integrated enterprise printing solutions for the supply chain, today announced its channel strategy for radio frequency identification (RFID) smart label solutions in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Through its RFID Smart Partner Programme, Printronix will certify new and existing partners in EMEA to sell its RFID solutions and provide support to end-users. The first UK partners to be announced are Newbury Data and UnIQue ID, joining existing strategic partners such as Manhattan Associates and MARC Global.

The RFID Smart Partner Programme gives Printronix' partners access to its RFID products, facilitating RFID planning and deployment while supplementing revenue. There are three tracks to the programme: partners can apply to be an RFID Integrator, an RFID Reseller or an RFID Referral Partner.

"The timing is right for this programme," said Claus Hinge, Vice President sales and marketing, Printronix EMEA. "The supply chain, pharmaceutical, automotive and retail sectors are ahead of the market in forming their RFID strategies and are set to roll-out pilot programmes once the standards for Europe have been agreed. Our new programme will enable a greater number of European businesses to get on the road to RFID deployment."

Three tracks to the Printronix RFID Smart Partner Programme

  • The first option is to become an RFID Integrator. Partners must demonstrate RFID expertise and the ability to install and integrate RFID hardware. Every certified Full RFID Integrator is authorised to resell and support all Printronix RFID products and solutions along with Printronix' thermal printing products.
  • The second option is to become a Printronix RFID Reseller Partner. This option is designed for existing partners who have the experience and expertise to deploy RFID projects successfully.
  • The third option is to become a Printronix RFID Referral Partner. These partners may not have the expertise or skills to handle RFID deployments for their customers, but can still benefit by receiving a commission payment for every lead passed to Printronix that results in a sale.
