The combined solution allows users to collect and correlate alerts generated by CyberGuard appliances with security and other events generated by Netcool-supported security system and network devices. This enables network administrators to centrally monitor network-wide security events from a single Netcool for Security Management console.
"We see this as a positive step to solving complex issues for enterprise customers," stated Pat Clawson, chairman and CEO of CyberGuard. "In the United States alone this partnership now provides many of our larger financial institutions with a resource to solve a variety of complex compliance and reporting issues that pertain to Sarbanes Oxley. Globally, this partnership offers customers a comprehensive system for monitoring all of their security operations. The ability to view and then quickly resolve issues is critical to providing true enterprise-wide security."
"Network and security environments are becoming increasingly heterogeneous, driving a requirement for consolidated management and monitoring," said Darin Layman, Vice President of OEMs and Alliances at Micromuse. "The partnership with CyberGuard will enable us to offer our mutual customers an integrated solution that will help simplify operations by providing, centralized real time management of security environments."
