equIP Technology Launches New Group & Strengthens Team with new Sales Director

equIP Technology, the distributor that specialises in securing IP networks, today announced the launch of a new group, which has been set-up to focus on the needs of professional services organisations, consultants and other 3rd party services groups the new group will be headed up by director Grahame Smee.  In addition to this, the company is pleased to announce the appointment of Andy Travers as the new Sales Director.

The new group will work and support customers who require knowledge, engineering, product and technical consultancy and either offer niche services to compliment their own services, or fully integrated solutions covering firewall, AV, spam, IDS, IPS. The specialist services offered are to include consultancy, pre-sales design, staging, on-going support and 24/7 365 technical support. 

The creation of the new group is as a result of the opportunities within the IT services sector for closer more co-operative selling and support, complimenting their core businesses, commented Neil Ledger, Director, EquIP.  We see those partners taking advantage of our specialist knowledge, training and comprehensive support services.  By definition, these opportunities can be large, complex and longer term and by providing a specialist group to focus on their needs we believe we will be better positioned to take advantage of this growing opportunity.   

The group will initially comprise 4 people in sales and pre-sales engineering.  In addition, Andy Travers has been appointed Sales Director of EquIP. Andy has over fifteen years experience of selling in the IT channel and was most recently Sales Director for Microsoft Infrastructure Services business, Teksys, for five years. 

Commenting on the new appointment Ledger said, Andy has a proven track record in sales management in the channel and is an excellent appointment for EquIP, he has been charged with the continued development, management and motivation of our sales team and channel.
