Denso, the specialist for mobile data capture solutions, has launched two new mobile hand-held scanners for trade, logistics and industry onto the market. A member of the Toyota Group, the company offers a fast scanning solution with its GT10Q and GT10B models. Both appliances are network-compatible and feature USB and RS232 interfaces as well as Bluetooth. This allows users to establish a wireless connection between the scanner and their EDP system. The GT10B version reads bar codes from a distance of up to 100 centimetres and even registers dirty and faulty labels reliably, while the GT10Q also reads 2-D codes. This scanner records up to four 2-D codes within its reading field. Further key features of both new models include automatic scanning and the option of comparing bar codes with a master code to check goods.
Mobile use by hand and on production lines
The scanner can also communicate with the EDP system wirelessly via a Bluetooth interface, facilitating mobile use of the high-performance scanner. Various functions allow manual use by an employee or automatic use on a production line. A so-called auto-sensing function can be selected on the units for automatic scanning. The GT10 then starts working without further human intervention when a bar code label appears in the sensors reading area. Between scanning labels, the appliance goes into the energy-saving standby mode. When it comes to integrating the scanners into a network, USB and RS232 interfaces are available as standard as is Bluetooth. Denso also supplies set-up software for the computer and special brackets for the scanners.
High reading distance and multiple 2-D codes
The GT10B from Denso reliably scans bar codes, even from a great distance. Two versions are available. While the standard model has a reading distance of 30 centimetres, the long-range version scans labels from a distance of no less than 70 centimetres. Denso also offers the GT10Q model for scanning 2-D codes, which reads 2-D code formats including QR code, micro QR code, DataMatrix and PDF 417. The new scanner registers as many as four 2-D codes. The unit also has a laser which can be used to mark the reading field precisely. With these functions, users can record a great deal of product information in a short space of time. Thanks to their high performance and various features, both GT10 models are suitable for intensive use in booking incoming and outgoing goods. The black hard rubber case is aesthetically pleasing and protects the sensitive technology from water and dust as stipulated in the industrial standard IP54. The GT10 scanners can even withstand being dropped from a height of two metres.
