SNIA Taps Engenio To Chair Conference Committee

Engenio Information Technologies, Inc., formerly LSI Logic Storage Systems, Inc., has announced that Julie Ryan has been named chairperson of the Conference Committee for the Storage Network Industry Association (SNIA). Ryan is Manager of Alliances for Engenio and a board member of the SNIAs Storage Management Forum (SMF). Ryan serves as secretary and business development chairperson for SMF.

Ryans appointment extends Engenios commitment to the SNIA. Engenio has been a member from the inception of the Storage Management Forum, which now includes 28 member companies. She helped launch the SMI-S Developers Course, coordinated the SNIA Storage Management Summit, and was honored as the SNIAs Outstanding Volunteer in 2004.

"Engenio is committed to the important role that the SNIA plays in the industry," said Joel McGill, Engenio, Director of Alliances. "The storage industry is extremely dynamic and new technology is introduced regularly. It is vital for leading storage technology providers to proactively participate in industry initiatives and to help determine the future of the storage industry."

The Conference Committee chair is responsible for enhancing SNIAs reputation and presence at both SNIA-sponsored and non-SNIA-sponsored industry events. Ryan will be responsible for coordinating the SNIA Speakers Bureau as well as the SNIAs participation and support of industry-wide events, conferences and member symposiums.

Sheila Childs, chair of the SNIA, said, "The SNIA and the storage industry will benefit greatly from Julies leadership of the Conference Committee. Her knowledge of the storage industry will enable her to guide the development of strategic SNIA initiatives and recruit industry leaders to speak at major conferences. Our members also will benefit from her management experience, vision and contacts within the storage industry."
