LXE, a leading manufacturer of rugged wireless computing solutions that improve the performance of supply-chain execution applications, and an EPCglobal member, have announced the introduction of the pioneering, RFID enabled handheld computer - the MX3-RFID. The innovative MX3-RFID is based on LXEs highly successful, and seasoned, Windows CE-based horizontal half-screen wireless computer, the MX3-CE.
The versatile unit is equipped with radio (802.11b) communications capabilities and is capable of reading both barcodes and RFID tags. It gives customers the flexibility to use one unit for a broad range of data collection applications. With the MX3-RFID, support and training costs are also minimized, because IT only has to support one computer model, and warehouse operators only have to learn one device.
The unit includes an EPC-compliant, class 0 (read only) and class 1 (write once, read many) tag reader that is fully protected in a very low-profile enclosure in the rear of the unit.
The handheld RFID prototypes weve seen to date wouldnt last long in a typical warehouse or distribution center," says Peter Fausel, Senior VP of Sales and Marketing. The MX3-RFID, like all of LXEs wireless computers, has been designed to thrive in these demanding environments.
As always, the MX3-RFID is supported by LXEs award-winning Customer
