LINKS OF LONDON LINKS WITH KPOS

Links of London, the award-winning luxury brand, has announced it is taking a complete retail store and head office retail solution from KPOS Computer Systems to drive worldwide sales and profits.  The KPOS solution will be implemented at the Links of London Head Office and all its retail stores in the UK, the US and Canada.  It is anticipated that the system will be rolled-out to the company's stores in Hong Kong in 2005.  The new system will enable the company to implement sophisticated marketing strategies based on the information gathered at the till-point.  Customers will also benefit from a faster point of sale process.

The KPOS Smart Retail network-based solution, based on Microsoft technology, comprises both store and head office systems, with real-time data access from any point in the retail organisation. IBM SurePOS 500 touch terminals will be installed in UK and US stores and laptop computers in concessions, connected into Links' routed wide area network (WAN), so they can run both store and head office applications.

All Links of London retail outlets will have immediate browser-based access to a central customer database, containing details of all transactions including internet and mail order sales. Other KPOS head office applications include price management, stock control, automatic store replenishment and stocktaking using Nippon Denso handheld terminals. The new store systems will also interface with Links' existing footfall monitors, to give store managers real-time customer conversion information. A new Smart Retail Monitor is being developed by KPOS to allow Links managers to see worldwide retail sales from all outlets in real time.

Founded in 1990, Links of London has rapidly established a reputation for innovative design in sterling silver and gold jewellery, watches and accessories.  The company now has 34 stores in Europe, North America and Asia. In June 2004 Links opens a prestigious new flagship store on Sloane Square in London - the highlight of what is proving to be a hugely successful year for the company.  In its fourteen year history, Links of London has won over 10 Design and Retail Awards including 'Objects Brand of the Year' at the prestigious 2003 Retail Jeweller Awards ceremony.  Links is also the exclusive licensee for silver and gold jewellery and accessories for the All England Lawn Tennis Championships at Wimbledon and Royal Ascot.

In addition to all hardware, package and custom software, KPOS is providing all required services to support Links' plan for a rapid implementation, including project management, consultancy, bespoke software development, installation, training and ongoing system support.

Commenting on the decision to work with KPOS, Tim Hort, Merchandising and Logistics Director for Links of London, says, "Our customer service is at the very heart of our business strategy and it is essential that we can offer the highest levels of service to our customer at the point of sale. KPOS provides us with a solution based upon industry standard hardware and software enhanced with a specially tailored CRM solution at the till-point.  We are confident that KPOS can deliver the right solution to take our business forward and we look forward to developing a long-term business partnership with them."
