FireScan, the Evolution in Hand-Held Laser Readers from Datalogic

Datalogic is pleased to announce the FireScan, the new hand-held laser gun that renews its offer for users that need to read bar codes at a higher distance and a bright, well-defined scan line, hence completing Datalogic's range of products for the retail market.

The FireScan is the result of Datalogic's experience in the field of hand-held readers, evolving from the development of characteristics such as advanced technology, attractive design, ergonomics and ease of use.

The FireScan is equipped with a high performance laser module to guarantee best visibility of the laser line, making it easy to use in any ambient light condition. It has an extended reading distance of over 40cm, which coupled with the user-friendly aiming system, makes it easier to use and improves operator productivity. In addition, it features Datalogic's Puzzle Solver technology to increase its reading performance on damaged or badly printed codes.

The reader is up-to date with current market standards as it can read standard linear codes as well as RSS. It has a visible good read LED and beeper with adjustable volume to ensure optimal user feedback. Full connectivity is ensured by the multi-interface models of the FireScan: standard connections (USB, RS232, wedge and wand), IBM-46xx for connectivity to standard IBM cash registers, and TTL for undecoded reader applications such as connection to flatbed scanners.
Firmware can be easily updated in-field to keep the FireScan constantly up-to-date. All parameters can be configured either by bar code or by using the new release of the DL Sm@rtSet software which is available free of charge from the Datalogic website: www.datalogic.com.

The product is available in the colours black and grey according to latest market standards. It has been designed to be ergonomic, easy to handle and lightweight in order to reduce operator fatigue and simplify daily activities.

FireScan is the ideal solution for data collection applications that require a high reading distance together with a bright, well-defined scan line, such as check-out activities in cash & carry stores, front office activities and in light industrial environments.
