Toshiba Tec, specialist manufacturer of Point of Sale hardware, has announced the availability of the latest product in its highly successful ST6500 range, the ST-6500 CC/C7 POS terminal. The device can run in stand-by mode; a wake-up command can be sent on line from a back office pc, via the network, to activate and de-activate the device automatically. This gives retailers the flexibility to provide reporting at any time, regardless of power status and removing the need for an operator to be present during this process. Furthermore, the reduction in heat and power consumption achieved whilst the ST-6500 CC is in stand-by mode, makes it one of the most eco-friendly products on the POS market.

A CD-R/W drive option has also been added for increased maintenance and security. It enables back ups to be completed directly from the terminal, eliminating the need for a back office PC. Coupled with the compact design of the ST-6500 CC/C7, this is an added benefit for smaller stores where space is at a premium. The facility to load software onto the terminal directly, via the CD-R/W drive, makes the system much more user-friendly and ensures that retailers get the most from their PoS system.

Other benefits that makes the ST-6500 CC/C7 the choice for most retailers include a lockable front panel cover, to prevent unauthorised access to the floppy drive, CD-R/W drive and power switch, and of course, all the latest technological features & open architecture that help retailers to maximise their efficiency.
