Helping the PC channel

IBM is launching a European-wide advertising campaign on prime-time television, on the 15 March 2004, supporting the channel by boosting awareness of IBM Personal Computing Division's (PCD) ThinkVantage Technologies, emphasising that they are only available on IBM PC products.

The adverts will reach millions of PC professional users, decision makers and influencers and will demonstrate how IBM add value for mobile workers through unique product differentiators: IBM ThinkVantage Technologies. The campaign also reaffirms IBM's commitment to its Business Partners by driving customers their way.

There will be two different adverts:
Help - showing a user panicking about a document needed for his board meeting, which was lost due to a virus. IT colleagues point him to the ThinkPad X40's Rapid Restore to recover his data. The blue button saves the day.

Oops - shows one user explaining the Active Protection System to his friend, demonstrating how it can sense a fall and then lock, protecting the hard drive and its data. His friend grabs the nearest notebook and drops it, only to be told that he has dropped the wrong one

The adverts will direct viewers to the following landing page ibm.com/think/uk. By visiting the site, viewers will be able to see the adverts, learn about ThinkVantage Technologies and locate an IBM Business Partner.

The adverts will be appearing between the following dates:
15 March - 11 April, 7 June - 20 June, 12 July - 1 August, 1 November - 5
December 2004.
