HyperGrid, provider of the container-based application-aware HyperConverged Infrastructure-as-a-Service (HCIaaS) solution, formerly known as Gridstore, has announced its intention to target UK based Managed Service Providers (MSPs) looking for the competitive edge.

HyperGrid has targeted the market to deliver a new concept in HyperConverged infrastructure, HCI-as-a-Service (HCIaaS) in a pay-as-you-consume pricing model that scales elastically and is suitable for all workloads and use cases, enabling true DevOps for the Digital Enterprise. MSPs can now exploit the benefits of the public cloud with a low Total Cost of Ownership, no upfront CapEx costs all without fear of vendor lock-in, a hugely attractive consumption model for the market.

Doug Rich, VP EMEA, HyperGrid, stated: "Businesses want to realise the benefits of the cloud, such as scalability, flexibility and an on-demand subscription model, without the challenge and expense of managing it themselves which is naturally why they turn to MSPs. But they in turn may lack the expertise and capacity to scale up or down dependent on demand, while others may have the ability but prefer to focus on their core business instead.

"As digital transformation services look to shape the direction of the market, technology companies are being forced to overhaul their own business models in a bid to survive; with technology leaders willing to embrace agile technologies and new digital services set to make significant gains," he added.

MSPs are increasingly recognising the value of transitioning their conventional data centres into HyperConverged facilities. Furthermore there is a clear trend toward consumption-based purchasing evolving rapidly as enterprises consider more flexible subscription or consumption-based payment models. HyperGrid's HCIaaS also means that there are no capital expense costs up front.

This is clearly the direct result of increasing pressure on IT departments to be able to provision resources instantly; the need to identify which applications are best-suited for scale-out systems built using commodity components; and a solution that is both reliable and cost-effective means that many are now looking at HyperConverged solutions as a means of delivering great efficiency gains while at the same time being enablers of Digital Transformation.

Doug Rich concluded: "Many IT departments struggle to find the time and the budget to re-train staff on new technologies and ways of working, to evaluate and deploy new cloud-focused orchestration tools, and to restructure their team to ensure that they're able to meet expectations. Our solution is a real disrupter for the industry and gives customers what they have been asking for - simplicity, agility, elasticity with no vendor lock-in and a pay-as-you consume model. For MSPs this not only provides a leading edge solution for many existing and potential customers but one that affords a real competitive price edge, based as it is on a consumption model."
