Ergonomic Solutions the designer and supplier of technology mounting, mobility and security solutions, this week celebrates 20 years of operations.

From the humble beginnings of a dining room in a house in West Ewell, Surrey, to the opening of a new sales and distribution centre of subsidiary company, SpacePole, Inc. in Atlanta, USA just last month, it has been a time of major growth and change.

The company was formed to supply a solution that originally sought to provide an ergonomic answer to the increasing implementation of computers, their peripherals, and associated cables within point of sale and back office retail environments.

Technology has always been a driver for retail, and it was the advent of the flat screen in 1999 that drove the launch of the SpacePole brand as a technology mounting solution. In 2003, the first Chip & PIN solutions were trialled using Ergonomic Solution's products, and the organisation subsequently became a market-leading provider during the national roll-out in 2004.

Since then the company has grown into a leading supplier of technology mounting solutions, supplying over 60% of the global top 50 retailers. In numbers this equates to 5 million SpacePole solutions and 2.5 million payment solutions.

The company comments that progress never stands still, and the rise of the omni-channel shopper has driven what can only be described as a revolution in retail. Ergonomic Solutions makes the point that the consumer is driving change and their expectation of what the in-store journey should look like is the result of the sophistication and accessibility of the online retail experience.

Ergonomic Solutions' product set is now reflecting that with an increasing range of tablet mounts that enable many of the customer facing applications across today's omni-channel retail environment.

Those 20 years of understanding of the evolution of point of service technology hardware has ensured that the latest generation of Ergonomic Solutions mounting solutions leverage technology throughout an ever widening range of both static and enterprise mobility applications.

Ian Dewar, CEO Ergonomic Solutions Group, said: "Many of our customers have been with us since the early days, and their continued faith in us is a huge factor in the success of the organisation. Our business partners are providing a global eco-system of distributors and VARs that can provide the support and service of which we are very proud. Our values of passion, excellence, motivation, integrity and continuous development are at the heart of everything that we try to achieve as an organisation and it is a commitment that we will keep to as we move into the next 20 years."

Dewar concluded, "We would like to thank all of our loyal team members for their hard work and commitment over the years and our customers, past and present, for their continued support and trust in us. We look forward to the future in what are both challenging yet very exciting times."
