Laptop thefts remain a serious issue for employers and with more than one going missing every single minute, the problem looks set to get worse before it gets better.

Research from the Gartner Group reveals that a laptop is stolen every 53 seconds around the world and estimates suggest that the problem grows by 20 percent every year. As a result, Slingsby, which supplies workplace equipment across all industries and continually strives to offer the UK's lowest prices across its range of 35,000 products, has launched a range of laptop lockers in response to rising numbers of enquiries for products to help tackle the problem.

Lee Wright, Group Sales and Marketing Director at Slingsby, explains: "The figures surrounding laptop thefts are truly staggering and it's a problem that isn't going to go away as increasing numbers of employers supply their staff with laptops and mobile IT equipment to facilitate everything from hot-desking to remote working.

"The cost and inconvenience of a laptop being stolen can't be underestimated, especially when so many contain data that can be sensitive, valuable and potentially devastating if it falls into the wrong hands.

"We've seen enquiries growing year on year as employers search for solutions to help keep their laptops safe so we've launched a range of lockers that are specifically designed for notebooks, laptops and tablets, in response to this. Each unit comes with either 10 or 15 individual compartments, and they are also available with ASSA deadlocks and a steel strap that can cover the locks to add additional layers of security. They're already proving popular with a huge range of workplaces including schools, colleges, healthcare organisations and corporate firms."
