Absolute Software Corporation, the endpoint security and management solutions provider for computers, laptops, tablets and smartphones, has announced a new channel partnership with Douglas Stewart EDU, the specialist distributor of computer products in the education market. The partnership will allow resellers to meet the rapidly growing security needs of education institutions, supporting them in combatting data and device loss and theft.

With limited resources and fines for losing information, protecting pupils' laptops, tablets and the data stored on them is a priority for educational establishments. Douglas Stewart EDU will distribute a range of Absolute Software endpoint security solutions to its network of resellers serving the education market. This includes Absolute Computrace, which will allow schools, universities and colleges to persistently track and secure all of their devices within a single cloud-based console as well as a solution for student owned devices.

Mark Grace, Vice President of World-Wide OEM and Business Development at Absolute Software commented that: "Laptops and tablets enhance the learning experience by providing a wealth of instant information and eliminating costly textbooks that date quickly. There are clear benefits but also associated risks. Device theft is on the rise, some students are becoming targets of crime, and devices can act as portals for access to inappropriate content. There is a burgeoning demand from schools to protect data, control device use and help protect pupils. Through our partnership with Douglas Stewart EDU, Absolute's Computrace addresses these risks in this mobile environment."

Lori Mercier, Managing Director, Douglas Stewart EDU said: "We are very excited to add Absolute Software to our product portfolio as it furthers our commitment to provide the right technology solution to our education reseller market. Absolute Software's award winning Persistence technology addresses the necessity to manage and protect the vast number of devices being sold into the education sector – ultimately focussing on protecting the data and ensuring student safety. We are eager to help put Absolute Software's products into more schools and universities across the UK."
