Software testers from across the globe will descend on London in July to attend the 6th World Congress for Software Quality (WCSQ). This is the first time the congress has been held in the UK and is being hosted by BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, together with the UK Testing Board (UK TB). The congress takes place 1-3 July in London.
The theme of the congress is 'Shift Left'. This concerns the fundamental theory that we shift tasks from the right hand side of a plan to the left hand side to increase the quality. It's about building it right first time, and not just testing it right later. Expert speakers from across the globe will present and discuss current issues, trends and what the future holds.
Keynote speakers include:
- Andy Green, world land speed record holder and the first person to break the sound barrier on land
- BJ Rollison who was a test architect in Microsoft's engineering excellence group
- Tom Gilb, an international consultant and teacher from Norway
- Paul Gerrard, winner of the 2011 EuroSTAR European Testing Excellence award and 2013 European Software Testing Awards (TESTA) award for Lifetime Achievement

The congress has been designed to offer delegates the opportunity to discuss and exchange views as well as act as an ideas shop to stimulate interest for writing, presenting and becoming involved in industry associations and groups.
