Toughshield, the global provider of rugged mobile computers for business, today announces the appointment of Olaf May as Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect. May joined the company from Pro Barcode GmbH where he was managing director. Prior to this May spent 15 years at Motorola where he held European Vice President roles for both Motorola's consumer and enterprise mobility businesses. May brings a deep understanding of the consumer, business and public sector mobile markets together with extensive experience of managing successful international sales operations.
Commenting on his reasons for joining Toughshield, May said: "Having managed sales operations for both the consumer and enterprise mobile markets I have seen the effect of consumerisation on the enterprise and government markets. There is rapidly increasing demand for rugged devices with consumer features and as a brand with vast smartphone experience and an aggressive product roadmap, Toughshield is perfectly placed to meet this demand. I look forward to leading the company as it enters this next stage in its development."
Toughshield made a number of management appointments in 2013 covering strategic planning, sales and marketing roles, as well as country managers to cover the DACH and Nordics regions, France, Italy, Iberia and North Africa. More appointments are expected shortly.
