BCP shopping app wins top Progress award

BCP is delighted to announce that it has won one of the top prizes in Progress Software Corporation's mobile app competition, the results of which were revealed at the Progress Exchange Conference earlier this month in Boston, MA. USA.

BCP (Business Computer Projects Ltd) is one of the UK's leading suppliers of retail software, Voice WMS and ERP supply chain solutions.  Its Accord solution provides end-to-end functionality across the supply chain and its latest Accord Momentum retail offering delivers a unique lean client, cloud based approach which guarantees true NonStop trading and the ability to adapt quickly to changing consumer demands and market opportunities.

Mobile Apps are one of the key trends in the retail technology market place and BCP is actively developing them as part of its retail software suite.

The award winning app is called FastShop and has been designed as a more convenient and more powerful alternative to the hand scanners that supermarkets supply to allow customers to scan their own baskets.  FastShop provides additional functionality that a purely in-store app cannot match.  As well as allowing customers to scan their own baskets, showing them the total value and alerting them to deals as they shop, FastShop also lets the customer create a shopping list before they leave home.  As they scan their basket in the store the items are automatically ticked off the shopping list.
