Star Micronics is playing an increasingly important role in the mobile POS sector having recently expanded its range of mobile printers to include the new SM-T400i Apple iOS and Android compatible Bluetooth mobile printer. With a 4 inch (112mm) print width designed to offer extra space for more information alongside an extended 20 hour battery life, this mobile printer is ideal for a wide range of applications.
The SM-T400i has been developed in response to the rapidly growing demand for a mobile Bluetooth printer that is compatible with multiple operating systems (Windows®, Android™, iOS). Unlike most printers available today, the SM-T400i can pair directly with the Apple iPad®, iPhone® and iPod Touch®. Compatibility with iOS is a result of Star's investment in Apple Inc.'s MFi (Made for iPhone, iPad, iPod) certification. The SM-T400i also supports the Bluetooth SPP protocol providing compatibility with other common operating systems with additional wired serial connection flexibility.
Its ease of use is highlighted by its ability to simply switch from iOS support to Android etc, thanks to front panel controls that allow configuration of the printer and selection of either MFi mode or SPP for all other operating systems. In addition to supporting 4 inch (112mm) thermal paper, easy 'Drop-In & Print' paper loading and a print speed up to 80mm/second, the SM-T400i features an LCD display and convenient automatic sleep mode with an extended 20 hour battery life.
Compact and lightweight, this printer also benefits from a rugged splash-proof design (IP54 certified and drop tested up to 1.5 metres) making it suitable for a range of demanding environments. With a magnetic stripe reader and a number of accessories included in the box, the SM-T400i is a versatile mobile POS printer providing exceptional functionality at minimal extra cost.
