Handheld strengthens organisation of management and sales for continued global growth

Handheld Group, manufacturer of rugged PDAs, smartphones and mobile devices, has made several new top appointments to strengthen the organisation of its management and sales for continued global growth.

Torkel Zettergren will serve as the new managing director of Handheld Scandinavia AB. In this position, Zettergren will be responsible for operations in the Scandinavia region, an important home region where Handheld has a very strong footprint and large market share. Zettergren has worked with sales and key accounts in Handheld Scandinavia since 2005, and has acted as the company's sales manager for the past two years.

Handheld APAC's managing director, Christian Löfvendahl, will take on the position of managing director  for Handheld Europe AB. Löfvendahl will be stationed at Handheld's headquarters in Lidköping, Sweden, and will also retain his position as managing director for Handheld APAC's Pty Ltd.

Löfvendahl has served as managing director for Handheld's Asia-Pacific subsidiary for two years. He is a product of Handheld Group's successful International Management Trainee Programme and has also held a key position at Handheld's US subsidiary.

Thomas Löfblad will become the new vice president of global sales. Löfblad is one of the founders of Handheld and has held leading positions in the company for a decade, including serving as managing director of both Handheld Scandinavia and Handheld Europe. He has held key management and marketing positions in several international growth companies.

Torkel Zettergren, Christian Löfvendahl and Thomas Löfblad will take up their respective new positions on January 1, 2013. Several new sales positions have also been appointed at Handheld's subsidiaries in Australia and the Netherlands.

"We have seen the market increase as many users favor rugged mobile computers for field work, and we also have several new product launches in the coming months that we believe will be very attractive and will require a strong, sales-focused organisation."

Handheld's line-up of rugged PDAs and mobile computers is specifically developed for use in tough environments in industries such as geomatics, logistics, forestry, public transportation, construction, mining, field service, utilities, maintenance, public safety, military and security.

Handheld is a manufacturer of rugged mobile computers and has won several prestigious national and international awards for its technology and growth, including the Red Herring Global 100 award, which honours the most innovative technology companies in the world.
