Smartrac N.V., the developer, manufacturer and supplier of RFID transponders and inlays, has broadened its product range of hard tags for industrial applications by another high-temperature RFID tag.

The new Smart-Ferro II-Tag has been developed to track and trace metallic objects over long reading distances in harsh and high temperature environments. The passive UHF tags are encased in specific thermoplastic material which enables the tags to withstand operating temperatures of up to 85 degrees centigrade and storage temperatures of up to 200 degrees centigrade. The specific casing of the Smart-Ferro II-Tags also offers complete resistance against dust as well as protection against temporary immersion in water and most chemicals.

Smart-Ferro II-Tags provide reliable read range and excellent performance in the presence of metal. They are therefore ideally suited for logistics applications, shipping handling, incoming goods departments and asset tracking as well as for applications in the petrochemical, automotive, aerospace, and maritime industries.

The tags comply with the ISO/IEC 18000-6C and EPC Global C1G2 standards and protection class IP 67. Equipped with affixing holes, the Smart-Ferro II-Tags can be easily attached with riveting screws.
