Compuware Corporation, the technology performance company, has launched a global website performance comparison test. It allows organisations to benchmark the performance of their own website against that of their competitors.
The test is easy to use. All companies need to do is enter their URL, and the URL of two others websites they want to compare their site with. There is a box to select the global location to test from which includes key cities in Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America and North America. The results of the test will be delivered within one hour by email and will show:
- Page load time website visits are impatient and up to 40% of visitors wait no more than 3 seconds
- Total page size: Lighter is faster. Graphics and other cool features delight users but slow pages down.
- Round page trip interactions: how many round trips does it take before users see your page? Fewer is better. Round trips take time and slow pages down.
