Varlink, the York-based mobile computing and data capture specialist distributor, has added the Recon USB Host Bundle to its ever expanding Trimble product range. This new accessory allows users to add a USB Host port to their Trimble Recon handheld computer, enabling any Recon user to maximise the use of their PDA to provide a complete, fully mobile solution.

The USB Host Bundle consists of a CompactFlash USB Host card (SolarExpress PDA II) with a corresponding endcap. Until now, the Trimble Recon has not had the capability to connect to such a wide variety of peripheral devices in the market today; the introduction of this accessory allows users to attach anything from a keyboard to a flash drive via a USB port.
The Trimble Recon delivers maximum performance and reliability all incorporated into one extremely rugged, lightweight, compact PDA form factor. Connectivity in the field is easy, especially with the introduction of the USB Host Bundle; the outdoor rugged design paired alongside a 15 hour battery life gives users everything they need to complete a job in a harsh, challenging environment outside of the four walls.
