ScanSource Europe, the value-added distributor of auto ID, barcoding and POS products as well as voice, data, security and video communications solutions, has doubled the size of its Professional Services team in recent months. This allows ScanSource to meet the growing demand from resellers for services and enhances its offering for 2012.
Resellers in each region in Europe will now have their own dedicated Professional Services representative who understands local markets and the nature of the demand for services in that region. Resellers looking to their distributor to outsource professional services such as installation and maintenance contracts can discuss their service needs with ScanSource in their preferred language.
"As end customers and resellers have taken cost saving measures over the past couple of years, it has led to an increase in the number of activities that they are looking to outsource to third parties," said Colin Booth, Director of Professional Services Europe, ScanSource Europe. "As a company, we will always look to invest in any part of our business that will help our reseller partners secure more business on their side and enhance the offering that end customers are able to procure from the channel."
ScanSource has also been working to expand the range of services it can offer to resellers to add to their hardware sales in order to help them increase margin, enhance service levels and encourage repeat business. Services that are currently available include: pre-shipment product configuration; hardware service and maintenance contracts; extended warranties; installation and commissioning of equipment; and systems integration and radio frequency and RFID site surveys.
