New Tablet PC for mobile point of sale applications from X2 Computing

X2 Computing, UK provider of mobile computing solutions, has announced the X2372 a new ruggedised tablet PC. This mobile tablet provides options for fully integrated encrypted PIN pad and Magnetic Stripe Reader (MSR) and meets the needs of a wide range of retail, hospitality, warehousing and mobile workforce applications.



The X2372 is powered by an Intel Atom Z530 1.6GHz processor with up to 2GB RAM and 64GB Flash storage capacity. It has a 7-inch resistive touch screen with optional outdoor viewable display and is housed in a slim, lightweight and durable casing. This robust tablet offers seamless information capture for improved workflow with options including RFID, smart card and fully encrypted magnetic stripe readers that support TDS and AES encryption. This provides full encryption of customer data to protect sensitive debit card and credit card numbers and enables customers to make payments without losing sight of their cards, even when used in remote locations.

Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1 are included and the X2372 can operate with a wide range of operating systems including Microsoft Windows Embedded Standard 7, Windows 7 Professional, Windows XP Embedded, Windows XP Pro for Embedded Systems or Linux.

The X2372 is compact and weighs just 1.1kg with dimensions of 190 x 237 x 41 mm. Fully IP64 and MIL-STD 810G rated, it provides protection from water, dust, and shock vibration to deliver resilient, reliable performance in any environment. Other options include barcode scanners and a 2-mega-pixel camera.
