With more than 25 years' experience in the software industry Kent brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in product management, product marketing, solution partnering, and business development to Asigra. In his new role, Ashar will be responsible for nurturing relationships with existing technology alliances including Intel, NetApp and Huawei Symantec, and developing new partnerships.

"Kent has joined our team at a time when business adoption of cloud backup is growing rapidly. His leadership and management experience with both early-stage and mature technology companies will be invaluable as Asigra continues to expand  its footprint, enabling small, mid-sized and large companies to realize the benefits that cloud backup can deliver," commented David Farajun, CEO at Asigra. "Kent has a solid blend of product management and product marketing expertise and is a strong addition to our senior leadership team."

Kent's experience spans the telecommunications, power, transportation, banking, and realty markets. His previous roles include Director of Products & Alliances at Novo Technologies, President at PluraSoft, Director of Strategic Development at Proxima Systems, Product Manager at MEI Group, and Business Development Manager at Softkit Technologies. At Asigra, Kent's primary role will involve maintaining the connection between customers and product development to build and compile product requirements. He will also lead product positioning and messaging, vertical marketing initiatives and maintain the company's relationships with industry experts and analysts.

"I joined Asigra because of its well-defined, feature-rich product and enviable position in a rapidly-growing market. The company has an impressive track record of success through innovation and a solid business model," said Kent McIntosh. "I am enthusiastic about the company's direction, and very excited to join this dynamic team."

As Asigra continues to strengthen its senior leadership team and reinforce its position in the cloud BURR market, these leadership changes support the company's focus on the channel, innovation and cloud backup thought leadership.

In June, the company released version 11 of its Cloud Backup software, which included data protection for the entire digital footprint (including tablet and mobile devices) across public, hybrid and private clouds. The company was also identified in Gartner's Magic Quadrant industry analysis for being a leader in the Enterprise Disk-Based Backup/Recovery field, and in a Market Overview published by Forrester on Backup Software-as-a-service.
