BlueStar, a global specialty electronics distributor based in Hebron, Kentucky USA, and Blackroc Distribution, a solutions-based distributor of specialty AIDC and Wireless Mobility products based in Stafford, England, have jointly announced the signing of a definitive agreement whereby Blackroc Distribution will join BlueStar as a wholly owned subsidiary.\

The agreement will extend BlueStars presence in Europe offering a broader distribution solution for manufactures and resellers in the region. The companies report that Blackroc Distribution customers will continue to benefit from proven levels service coupled with an expanded offering of solutions and products.

Tony Jephcott, Blackroc Distribution CEO, said: Teaming up with BlueStar was a logical step for us. AIDC distribution is fast becoming the province of major players who have the scale of operation to commit to the stocking levels, marketing activity and financing requirements demanded for the future of AIDC distribution.  BlueStar brings both the scale and core capabilities to enhance and expand Blackrocs service offering to UK resellers. BlueStar and Blackroc both share a high value-add business philosophy and this union makes a very good match. Blackroc Distribution is proud to join the BlueStar family and plans to further strengthen and grow its position in wireless mobility in the UK with broadened service offerings that comes with a wider product base.

Bill Nix, BlueStar Vice President, Global distribution, stated: Blackroc is a well-respected solutions distributor in mobility and RFID channels providing leading-edge innovations to the value added reseller network in the United Kingdom. Their focus on customer service and applications knowledge makes this transaction a natural fit with BlueStars solutions driven philosophy.

Nix pointed out that while Blackroc Distribution already has a strong customer base in the AIDC marketplace, including RFID, Bluestar is also planning to introduce an additional focus on Point of Sale within the Blackroc portfolio as the relationship develops. Nix added that Blackroc Distributions existing management team and staff will remain in place; with CEO Tony Jephcott agreeing to remain with the company for at least two years. Both organisations will be available to discuss the development in greater detail at Bluestars Vartech Europe 2011 event, to be held in Berlin from 4 to 6 October.

Blackroc Technology a privately owned systems integrator and custom product development company remains independent of the transaction.
