Nexsan, the independent provider of disk-based storage systems, has announced the first public demonstration of the company's E5000 series of NAS storage systems at VMworld 2011 in Las Vegas, August 29 - September 1. Featuring FASTierT for accelerated performance in virtualized operating environments, E5000 systems complement Nexsan's E-SeriesT Fibre Channel and iSCSI block storage systems and the industry-leading CAS-based AssureonR archive and cloud storage systems.
Organizations today are transitioning to storage technologies which not only support traditional IT environments but capitalize on the promise of virtual infrastructure. During VMworld 2011, Nexsan is demonstrating the revolutionary E5000 family of NAS storage systems featuring FASTier, which transparently boosts performance for random I/O workloads including applications that are run on top of virtualized computing environments such as VMware.
Two models of Nexsan's E5000 family will be shown at this year's event, the E5110 and E5310. The E5110 provides a highly available NAS system with 8TB to 62TB of capacity in 3U to 6U of rack space. The E5310 is a 3U high availability NAS head which leverages the industry-leading storage density, power efficiency, and enterprise-class reliability of the Nexsan E-Series block storage systems to provide 9TB to 720TB of storage in just 19U of rack space. Powerful yet easy to use features include reservation-less snapshots, replication, quotas, AD and LDAP integration, and thin provisioning.
Show attendees can learn more about the E5000 NAS family of products by visiting Nexsan at booth #870. VMworld details:
