Midwich launches with Nordic ID RFID and barcode handheld terminals

Nordic ID and Midwich have announced that following the re-location of Midwich's barcode solutions division, Synergix, to its Diss Headquarters, the Norfolk based award winning trade-only distributor will become Nordic ID's first trade-only distributor in the UK, for its RFID and barcode range of hand-held terminals.

As ICT increases in its scope and penetration across industries, the need for intelligent portable tools to facilitate information flow, bridge systems and build efficiency grows. Nordic ID recognises this need with a versatile range of technological solutions custom fitted to a broad variety of working environments and their particular demands, with their specialism being within the retail sector.

The retail sector has seen a dramatic change in recent years with radio frequency identification (RFID) technology being successfully integrated into the retail sector. The impressive benefits of RFID technology implementations include among others, more sales (through reduced O-O-S), significant cost reductions, increased stock visibility as well as availability, less shrinkage and more efficiency to the supply chain. Nordic, boast clients that include Marks and Spencer and American Apparel who have chosen to run RFID enabled solutions.

Nordic ID is looking to broaden their UK distribution strategy and believe this partnership will help them due to Midwich's broad market approach of not just selling auto id products. This will give Nordic ID the opportunity to move into new markets which their products are suited to including portable field based sectors, warehouse, education and healthcare.

Nordic's UK managing director, Mark Tailford, enthused: "Midwich has tremendous credibility within the distribution sector and resellers that have been previously benefited from Synergix's auto-id expertise can now also benefit from the fact that all of our products have been made available in-stock to Midwich, as our sole UK trade only distributor. Incremental business to both parties is the key driver for the partnership, both parties are keen to give the best mobility options to the reseller channel, and Nordic ID will enhance Midwich's reputation in this market. The appointment of Midwich as a genuine 'trade only' distributor ensures that resellers now have a 'choice', they can be safe in the knowledge that Midwich are here to partner them on opportunities, not deal direct with their customer.
