An ambitious design business is gearing up for growth, due to a 5K technology makeover from Brother UK. Creative Nerds, an up-and-coming design company producing bespoke websites for high profile clients including Sony Music Entertainment and Universal Music, won Brother's Business Ambitions competition, run in conjunction with Smarta.

Creative Nerds was founded by entrepreneurial 18-year-old Dirujan Sabesan while he was still at school. Along with co-founder Sam Thornton, the talented pair have successfully created a profitable and growing business that offers a bespoke web and digital print development service. They have just set up the company's first office in London.

Brother's prize of a full technology makeover included an A3 printer, desktop computers and labelling machines to kit out the new office.

"The prize couldn't have come at a better time for us, as we move from home working to opening our first office", said Dirujan Sabesan, director at Creative Nerds. "The package will help provide a sound foundation for the business as we look to expand our work and team members over the next few years."

As well as the chance to win a technology makeover, the competition gave growing businesses the opportunity to pose questions to entrepreneurial mentors. These included John Vincent, the co-founder of Leon and Simon Duffy, founder of Bulldog Natural Grooming.  Creative Nerds won the prize by asking the most inspiring question.

"The team at Creative Nerds is a perfect example of an ambitious and determined growing business. Their talent and design insight is plain to see and they are already busy working with some major names," said Phil Jones, sales and marketing director, Brother UK. "It's great to be able to support this business at such a critical stage with a range of innovative, effective products to help add a professional touch to their printed business collateral."

Brother has also launched an e-book, which compiles all of the mentors' advice from the Business Ambitions competition.
