The MH 132 smartphone has come to Yorkshire.  Launched earlier this year, Getac's new mobile computing device is compliant with the US Military's MIL-STD-810G standards and has an IP-65 rating meaning that it is completely protected against damage from dust and particulates and can withstand prolonged exposure to water and moist environments.  In addition, this device is impact and tumble resistant, capable of surviving multiple falls from 5 feet onto hard surfaces. The MH132 can also function from 21 to 43 degrees Celsius.

The MH132 specifications are as impressive as its durability, as each MH132 is equipped with GPS,  a 3.2 megapixel camera, WiFi and Bluetooth as standard. It is fitted with a micro-USB port allowing it to charge and sync data with a central computer and can also support a MicroSD card, boosting its memory to 32 gigabytes if needed.

This versatility and durability means this device is ideally suited to the transportation industry, the unit remaining functional and usable even on bumpy roads. In addition, its MIL-STD-810G and IP65 ratings make it a perfect choice for outdoor work in the Utilities field. The on board camera, along with Getac Camera, the company's own photo management software allows workers to geotag photos as they go, allowing information about problems or jobs to be recorded on site with ease.  Finally, Field Sales staff can use the unit to not only remain in regular contact with their central office but also send and receive critical information, a process made easy by the MH132's use of the Microsoft Windows Mobile Professional Operating System.

'What sealed it for us,' says Alasdair Stuart, Varlink Getac Brand Marketing Executive, 'was the sheer potential in the MH 132. This is a unit as suited to working outdoors in bad conditions as it is to transportation, logistics or field work. It has a great, rugged form factor and the ease of use means this is a unit that can be fitted to almost any project solution, depending on what the client wants. The MH 132 isn't just the right tool for the job, it's the right tool for countless jobs.'

Available now, the MH132 balances power and intelligence, versatility and durability to become an essential piece of equipment for field workers everywhere.  It may be grim up north, but now, it's rugged too.
