Plustek Technology Inc., a manufacturer of consumer, prosumer, professional and office imaging devices (including portable scanners, sheetfed/flatbed scanners, and graphics scanners), has announced its partnership with gDocScan which allows its MobileOffice and SmartOffice scanners to scan and index documents directly to Google Docs.

Plustek's MobileOffice and SmartOffice series scanners all have Plustek's DocAction feature which allows them interface to gDocScan with a single-touch button.
Executive Technologies, Inc. is the developer of gDocScan Document Management software, which reduces time spent finding, copying and organising paper and digital documents by organising them with user-defined indexes.
"You can scan, OCR (optical character recognition) and index documents directly from Plustek to Google's Cloud," said Jim Geer, president of Executive Technologies. "You can also search your documents by user-defined index fields, such as customer name and document type, as well as the OCR'ed text."
gDocScan is particularly suited to organisations with multiple locations or professionals in the field because it allows for scanning from the multiple locations to the Google Cloud where anyone can search and view the documents. gDocScan is operational on Windows  2008/7/XP/Vista/2003 platforms.

"The partnership with gDocScan makes it a breeze to implement a paperless office and search for documents from any location using a Plustek scanner," said Edward Hill, Business Development Manager, Plustek."Our scanners are designed for the most demanding business users, but at a price point attractive to home and SOHO users, and the hosted document management features of Google Docs further reduce the costs of handling, storing and retrieving documents over the Internet."
