ScanSource Europe, the international value-added distributor of Auto ID and point-of-sale solutions and services, has been named Best Mobility Distributor for 2010 by Motorola Solutions for the EMEA region. ScanSource Europe reportedly won the award in large part due to its creative marketing strategies and the effectiveness of its focus on partnership helping resellers to reach their full potential.

"We are honoured to receive this award," said Bert Fonderie, Vice President Merchandising, ScanSource Europe. "Motorola has been a key part of our business since we set foot in Europe nearly ten years ago; the success of this relationship is testament to the benefit of forming strong partnerships in the channel something we are keen to do with all the vendors and resellers that we work with.

"2009 and 2010 were difficult years for the channel, but our business model has enabled vendors and resellers to weather the worst of it and take advantage of the opportunities we were able to create as conditions improved in 2010. It's a model focusing on core services: ensuring we have best-of-breed vendors on our line card, holding the right stock levels, providing the right credit offering, and maintaining competitive pricing. We look forward to 2011 and continuing to strengthen our partnership with Motorola as we bring services and solutions to the channel to help resellers grow their Motorola mobility business."

"I would like to offer my congratulations to all at ScanSource on their achievements over the last year," said Richard Hudson, MSSI Vice President EMEA Channel & Solutions, Motorola Solutions. "For Motorola Solutions our partners are the key to our success, and the support we give each other is crucial to maintaining our market leading position. We begin each year with a clear mission: to maximise the support we provide to our partners in order to free them to do what they are best at: selling and delivering."
