Computerlinks, the next generation distributor of IT security and Internet technology solutions, has announced its plans to provide a suite of business Internet continuity services for the channel in Q1 2011. The services will be delivered using Avanti Communication's HYLAS 1 satellite, which was launched into space on 26 November. HYLAS 1 is the first predominantly Ka-band satellite to give coverage to key European markets.

The ALVEA Business Internet Continuity service will be available to UK resellers from February 2011, exclusively through Computerlinks as part of its ALVEA Channelled Services portfolio. The service will enable the channel to deliver solutions designed to eliminate the loss of revenues and productivity caused by a failure in Internet connectivity.

Computerlinks' was appointed sole distributor for Avanti's portfolio of business Internet continuity services in August 2010. Following the satellite launch, Computerlinks will begin testing the suite of business Internet continuity services it has developed within its ALVEA channel services. Full details of the services will be announced to resellers in February 2011.
