Zebra Technologies expands Vertical Marketing Team in EMEA

Zebra Technologies Europe has expanded its vertical market development team with the appointment of Luca Dell'Orto and Matthew Parker as EMEA Market Development Managers. The vertical market development approach is a critical part of Zebra's go to market strategy and this expansion will further establish Zebra's expertise within the following key verticals: Manufacturing & Logistics, Healthcare and Government as well as Retail where Zebra has a strong presence.

"Each vertical market has unique needs but we need to understand how these are changing and where we can help, both now and in the future. This includes developing an understanding of legislation changes that may affect the industries. Luca and Matt will work closely with the sales teams as well as key market influencers to provide the necessary support to our partners in maximising opportunities in the development of specific sector solutions." said Mark Thomson, Head of Market Development EMEA, Zebra Technologies. "While this is a new role for Luca and Matthew, they have both been with Zebra Technologies for over 5 years and have the necessary product knowledge, industry know-how and regional experience to support Zebra's vertical market growth". Mark said.

"One of the trends we are already noticing is in the area of supply chain and logistics. Zebra has seen an uplift in RFID enquiries and implementations, with Q2 2010 being a record RFID revenue quarter for the company. The demand for RFID was initially slow to take off, however we foresee an increased commitment to RFID adoption as companies in the logistics/supply chain and retail sector as well as other less obvious applications in the leisure sector increasingly use RFID as a means to differentiate and offer a higher value, premium offering." Mark continues. Zebra will also be focusing their efforts in the healthcare sector, particularly with hospitals and primary care sectors, to reduce errors and improve cost efficiencies in ensuring that patients are uniquely identified and assets are managed effectively.

Zebra's market development team will work hand in hand with local sales teams and channel partners to help identify trends, opportunities and future market needs across EMEA, bringing their wide breadth of knowledge and experience to support growth in their target markets.
