BlueStar delivers tangible reseller benefits at VARTECH Nordic 2010

BlueStar has announced the recent completion and success of VARTECH Nordic 2010 held February 2-3, 2010 at the Infra City Hotel in Stockholm, Sweden. This two-day event gave European value-added resellers the opportunity to discover new technology, network, and explore new revenue generating models within the ADC, Point-of-Sale, Mobility, RFID, and Security markets.

In its inaugural year, VARTECH NORDIC 2010 became the first Baltic region exhibition and conference of its kind to be hosted by a value-added technology distributor. VARTECH Nordic attracted well over 350 manufacturers, resellers and independent software vendors. Online registration closed January 29, however, an additional 30% more resellers registered at the show.

"VARTECH Nordic 2010 provided a setting for resellers and manufacturers to develop new relationships and learn about the latest technologies available to promote their business growth," says Steve Cuntz, BlueStar CEO and President. Throughout the keynote address, Mr. Cuntz passionately encouraged EMEA resellers to capitalize on cutting-edge technologies, as seen on the CodeZone floor, to create new revenue streams and drive incremental sales.

Mikael Svensson, Managing Director of BlueStar's Nordic region, spoke of BlueStar's recent acquisition of ADC Nordic, and the new services and resources available as a result. Svensson also talked about BlueStar's successful launch of FUSION, a marketing and development program that provides value-added resellers with end-user demand generation support. This exciting keynote address was sponsored by Datamax-O'Neil.

"VARTECH Nordic had just the right mixture of interaction between vendors and value-added resellers. We were able to discuss business and socialize in a relaxed and comfortable environment," said Theo Bielowicz, Director of Distribution at Datamax-O'Neil. "They have set the bar high for their next European event and I am sure that they will not disappoint."

VARTECH activities included one-on-one hardware and software demonstrations in BlueStar's well-known CodeZone. A series of "THINK" workshops detailed the latest trends, opportunities, and effective marketing strategies within the industry. BlueStar's highly acclaimed workshop, "Create Your Own Corporate Video", was one of the most popular sessions. This workshop gave value-added resellers the chance to take advantage of BlueStar's technical resources and create their own corporate video. During each session, best-of-breed hardware manufacturer and software providers detailed their value-add products and vertical-specific solutions and applications.

These activities and workshops were well received by EMEA value-added resellers such as Nordic ID and Stamford ECS Retail ABS. "For Nordic ID, VARTECH Nordic 2010, was a success. We were able to introduce our new mobile RFID products, meet resellers and system integrators, and get acquainted with the Bluestar U.S. team," said Mirva Saarijrvi, Marketing Manager at Nordic ID. "The event was well organized and provided us with the opportunity to make new contacts while keeping up with existing ones."

"It felt good to finally meet the Bluestar team," said Hkan Hult, CEO, Stamford ECS Retail AB. "We had satisfying meetings with several of the exhibitors. In addition to the standard verticals, we now plan on developing new verticals, such as RFID and Digital Signage."

VARTECH Nordic 2010 concluded with the anticipated FUSION Demand Generation Marketing Giveaways where $30,000 were awarded to three BlueStar Nordic resellers.

VARTECH Canada is scheduled for June 7-8, 2010, in Montreal, Quebec. Interested exhibitors and resellers should contact BlueStar Marketing Manager, Serge Poutchigian at spoutchigian@bluestarinc.com or 1-800-317-2323 for details.
